Earth Hour at Sunway Lagoon's Blackout Fest

Only in the darkness can you see the stars...and have an awesome time! Earth Hour on 24th March 2018 beckons not only awareness to conserve energy but also to disconnect from gadgets and reconnect with people. The Surf Beach at Sunway Lagoon provided the perfect setting to observe the hour while we unfurl during the weekend.
Sunway Lagoon's Blackout Fest 2018
All about music, food and fun vibes
Despite the many times I have been to the Surf Beach at Sunway Lagoon, I am still not blase about the place. Clean water, sand, giant balloons, lots of wind and music-articulated vibes- what is there not to like?
A wonderful place to observe Earth Hour
Only the dark can you see the beautiful glow
Earth Hour, organized by WWF, is a global grassroots movement uniting people to take action on climate change and protect the planet (www.earthhour.org) I personally think we can do better than 1 hour but lets get the awareness across thoroughly before we are too ambitious.
60 minutes of observation
All decorative lights were switched off at 8:30 pm till 9:30 pm. Candle lights were spread from one person to the other till the beach was speckled with glow. In that solidarity, we were serenaded by local artistes- RazQa, V5 and The Impatient Sisters. And without those artificial lights, it was a sweet moment of relaxation.
Dip into the surf beach
After an hour of abstaining from using unnecessary energy, we rewarded ourselves by resuming the games and play. Sunway Lagoon's professional performance crew added to the entertainment with their fascinating manouevre of fire and flame blowing stunts.
This is the day you will always remember as the day you almost caught Capt Jack Sparrow -Capt Jack Sparrow-
Get your limbs tangled
Laughed till I couldn't recognize myself when bouncing in this inflatable
Giant Jenga
Gladiator Challenge
RazQa
V5
Tale of Mount Berapi
Spectacular performance
Fire sprays from the mountains during finale
Food stalls selling char koey teow, roti canai, roti john, coconut water and more
Thank you Sunway Lagoon for the meaningful and fun evening! Will be waiting for your next event- the Aqua Run this coming April 22nd 2018 (Sunday). To know more, check out www.sunwaylagoon.com/aqua-run-2

Sam and Elsa- First Generation White Tiger Cubs Born in Sunway Lagoon Wildlife Park

Sam and Elsa are the pride of Sunway Lagoon Wildlife Park as they are the first generation of white tigers born in the park by existing white tigers Samson and Asha. Other than sharing my nationality, these 4-month-old cubs also share my adorable character! 😂 Kidding! These tigers are way too cute not to be seen. You really have to catch them before these babies are all grown up.
Sam and Elsa's first public appearance!
The sight of these majestic cats in the capacity of medium-sized dogs is just amusing. Plus, their endearing behavior will make you melt in an instant. Catch a glimpse of them during the Walk & Hunt in the Wild campaign happening at Sunway Lagoon this school holidays.
Let's warm up before the hunt!
The Walk & Hunt in the Wild campaign is a wonderful opportunity to get an organic breath of nature and wildlife. In the form of interactive scavenger hunt, the list brings you from one end of the park to the other tirelessly. Just when I thought I have outgrown visits to zoos and animal parks, the Sunway Lagoon Wildlife Park made every fibre of my being excited again!
All ready to hunt for the animals
Enter the Wildlife Park
Begin the edutaining journey by registering at Tigerland at 1.00pm and Wildlife Theatre at 3.30pm (on a first come first serve basis) and collecting the Scavenger Hunt Kit which includes an activity booklet, postcard map, hand sanitizer, Cadbury 5 Star chocolates and exclusive Sunway Lagoon redemption coupon. Upon completion of the hunt, guests will be presented with a certificate of participation at Rimba.

Whether you are a child or grown-up, this is a refreshing way to break from the urban monotony right here in the city of Petaling Jaya itself. Look what were my encounters that day!
Need not wait long to see the tiger babies!
Elsa has sparser stripes on her forehead who loves sneaking from  behind and eager to explore new things and people
Sam has denser stripes on its forehead with a playful and affectionate side
Very convenient Elsa!
Sam looks at his sister relieving herself

Mufasa staring straight into my camera!

Strictly no tapping on the glass and using flash lights during photography.
This will cause distress to the animals.
A perfect pose for the eager visitor!
Wakanda forever! Black panther
As tempting it may be, do not put your hands inside the cage and do not touch the animals
Some animals roam freely amongst humans. So, make it a safe place for them by not chasing or touching them
